User Research: Mobility as a Service

The mobility app brings together people that want to get to a shared destination quickly. We helped a startup win the grant funding and also provided in-depth understanding of user behaviour and views toward sharing taxis. We conducted usability testing of the Alpha product and provided insights into what the user did and did not enjoy about the design and functionality. We used online tools to assess users, conversions and interactions with the webapp to get an indication of how this was being used, soon after initial deployment.

The user research uncovered some really interesting travel behaviour to show the way that people currently use shared taxis, particularly from rail stations. We uncovered three variables that had to be in place for passengers to use the product. Once these had been implemented by the development team, we tested the product in a real-life setting and walkthroughs to assess its usability and functionality. The users provided detailed feedback on what they did and did not like and areas for improvement, which really helped give the development team direction for key changes ahead of deployment.
